Eric Lefkofsky is a very busy man. Lefkofsky is a philanthropist, an entrepreneur, a founder, and co-founder many times over. He is a CEO, Trustee, innovator, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago. This is just the beginning.
Mr. Lefkofsky was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 2, 1969. He went to college at the University of Michigan from 1987 thru 1991 and attended the University of Michigan Law School, 1991-1994, where he received his Juris Doctor.
Eric Lefkofsky co-founded the Lefkofsky Family Foundation in 2006 and has not stopped since. He is the Chairman and co-founder of Groupon, a well-known worldwide e-commerce giant, which began in 2007. Eric Lefkofsky is also the CEO and Co-Founder of Tempus, Inc., a technology company that created a cancer-battling operating system. The goal of Tempus, which began about one year ago, is to aid physicians in giving more personalized care and treatment of cancer patients by utilizing big data and machines as learning tools to be harnessed for patient treatment for better results.
Mr. Lefkofsky has put together teams consisting of geneticists, data scientists, computation biologists, and engineers. This team has analytic tools and software to work within the existing infrastructure of the hospital, augmenting the physician’s provided care. This fortifies pathologists, oncologists, radiologists, and surgeons with insights and data to help make data-driven and real-time decisions for their patients, who depend on this up-to-date information for their total recovery.
